The Copthorne Players have been asked to perform at the Copthorne Village Jubilee Celebrations!
Copthorne Village Green – Friday 3rd June
7.30pm to 10pm
The plan is to take the audience through the history of British musical theatre during the Queen’s reign in 30 minutes! Most of the programme will be solos, duets and small groups providing backing where needed but there will be 2 whole cast numbers – Oom Pah Pah, and One Day More. We will also be joining the Copthorne Silver Band and Happy Feet for some group singing and a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ style finale.
Performance will be to backing tracks on a raised, open-air stage. You will need to practice and learn words in your own time as we will not have many rehearsals to put the performance together. Costuming will be minimal. Everyone will wear black trousers/skirt/leggings with a brightly coloured t-shirt – accents relevant to the song being performed will be added to this base (e.g., hats, scarfs)
There will not be a show fee for this performance, but you will need to be a member (or become a member) of the Copthorne Players to take part.
Auditions will be held at the Copthorne Village Hall on Sunday 10th April between 2pm and 6pm
You will be provided with a 10-minute audition slot by the end of Friday 8th April

Please perform one of these songs and let us know on the audition form if you want to be considered for others. These backing tracks will be used for the auditions, different ones may be used for the performance. If you have your own you’d prefer to use, please email the production team.
