Copthorne Players Statement on the impact of COVID-19

Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19 in the United Kingdom and the continued closure of both theatres and rehearsal venues, and in line with UK Government advice around large gatherings and social distancing, the Copthorne Players Committee have decided to postpone all activities from March 2020 until further notice.

This impacts the following planned productions currently:

Sweet Charity at Lingfield College, 8th-11th July 2020

Blithe Spirit at Copthorne Village Hall, October 2020

We also anticipate at this stage it may have an impact on our planned pantomime in January 2021.

Whilst we appreciate this is disappointing for members and audience members alike, the health, safety and wellbeing of our performers, crew and audience members must remain our utmost priority during this unprecedented global crisis.

As a Committee, we continue to review the situation on a regular basis, taking guidance from the Government where appropriate. We will endeavour to keep you updated with any changes through our website and social media platforms.

We thank you so much for your continued support of Copthorne Players and sincerely hope you are all staying safe and well during the current epidemic.
