AGM & Carnival

I hope everyone is well on this lovely summery evening! It’s exciting times for the Copthorne Players with lots coming up in the next few weeks, so strap in…

Firstly, well done to everyone involved in Back to the Musicals yesterday! We welcomed new talent to the Copthorne Players, both onstage and off, and put together a shiny showcase of all our favourite showtunes from the 1950s through to the 2020s. Especial well done to Gemma Mansfield and Katherine Whinn-Collins for coordinating the production.

AGM – May 14th – Delmar Morgan

Is it that time already?! Yes, our annual general meeting is coming up on Wednesday May 14th at 8pm. We would love to see as many members as possible to have your say on future productions, ways to get involved in the local community, how we should run our membership *and* you can get the scoop on our plans for the next couple of years 👀

It’s also the time of year where we elect our committee, so if you fancy getting involved in the running of the Copthorne Players, please do come along to find out more.

Where? Delmar Morgan Centre, Copthorne Bank
When? 8pm Wednesday 14th May

Copthorne Carnival – Saturday 28th June

Look at that glorious weather we had last year – here’s hoping the sun will have his hat on again in 2025! We are looking for volunteers to help man our traditional stalls, both the strawberries & cream and the skittles, so please let us know if you’re around and can help.

The theme of the Carnival this year is the 80s and excitingly we have been invited by the organisers to perform some 80s show tunes in the afternoon. We’ll be looking for performers to get involved, so please let us know if you fancy it!

What next…?

If you’re on Facebook, you’ll have seen our recent posts seeking a director/musical director/production team for our September musical at the Village Hall. I can now reveal that the musical in question will be the fabulous 9 to 5! If you want to join the team, get in touch now!

All the best,
