The Copthorne Players had a wonderful time performing at the Copthorne Village Jubilee Celebrations!
The rain may have made an unscheduled appearance, but it didn’t dampen our spirits, nor those of the audience on the Village Green. We were very grateful to be invited to join the Copthorne Silver Band and Happy Feet Song & Dance Company to entertain Copthorne on Friday 3rd June 2022, and our small company very much enjoyed leading the crowd to sing classics of all genres, from “Baggy Trousers” to “We’ll Meet Again”.
For our set, we took the audience on a journey through 70 years of musical theatre to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne. We started with “Oh What A Beautiful Morning” and moved through the decades, passing by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Any Dream Will Do” and Benny & Bjorn’s “Mamma Mia!” right through to Marlow & Moss’s modern hit “Don’t Lose Ur Head” from brand new musical SIX, and ending on a rousing rendition of Monty Python’s wonderful “Always Look on the Bright Side”.
