Hello everyone!
It’s opening night for Charley’s Aunt! The Copthorne Players’ latest comedy play is the brainchild of our very own Trevor Hodsdon, who has adapted a classic farce to fit the twenty first century. Come along to the Copthorne Village hall tonight, tomorrow or Saturday to watch some familiar and some new faces take to the stage.
Jack and Charley are struggling influencers – isn’t everyone these days? They’ve got a plan to attract some investment from the prestigious AK Agency with their secret weapon: Charley’s aunt is a famous actress from Brazil, and the company CEO is bound to fall to her flirtations. But tragedy strikes when her flight back from Brazil is cancelled – can someone step in to save the day?! Bring on their friend Babbs, who suddenly finds himself doing some very high stakes cosplay as Donna Lucia D’Alvadorez. What can possibly go wrong, especially when the real Donna Lucia manages to make her way back to England…?
We still have tickets available on the door, so please do come along! Doors open at 7pm for curtain up at 7:30pm.
Up next, we’re on a holy quest to find the holy grail – or should that be the holy hand grenade of Antioch? Yes, we’re putting on Monty Python’s Spamalot! Our crusade begins on September 17th here in Copthorne – tickets on sale now!
Massive congratulations to the cast of Spamalot, who started learning the Fisch-Schlapping Song at their first rehearsal last week. We look forward to finally finding out the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow with you! Particular good luck to our new members – we hope your first show with the Copthorne Players leaves you looking on the bright side of life!

We hope to see as many members as possible – come and meet your committee, vote in new members and roles, and have your say about what you’d like to see the Copthorne Players do in future!
All the best,
Megan Birch
